Finlux: A New Roku TV Brand Arrives in the UK via Vestel Partnership

Roku, the pioneer in TV streaming, and Vestel, one of Europe’s top three TV manufacturers, have announced a new multi-year partnership to produce smart TVs powered by the Roku operating system (OS).

As part of the agreement, Vestel will begin manufacturing smart TVs featuring Roku’s award-winning OS, starting with the Finlux brand in the UK, with plans to expand to additional brands in the future. Roku is the leading TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and in over 90 million households worldwide.

Roku OS is an operating system that runs on Roku branded smart TVs, streaming players, and smart speakers. Roku calls it a “customized user experience built on top of an embedded Linux kernel”. Currently Roku powered devices are available from: Aiwa, AOC, Atvio, Britânia, Caixun, CHiQ, Daewoo, Element Electronics, Haier, Hisense, Hitachi, InFocusTV, Insignia, JVC, LG, Magnavox, METZ blue, Onn, Philco, Philips, Polaroid, RCA, Sansui, Sanyo, Sharp, Spectra, TCL and Westinghouse.

Roku-made TVs, Roku TV™ models, Roku streaming players, and TV-related audio devices are available in various countries around the world through direct retail sales and/or licensing arrangements with TV OEM brands. Pevac DevOps apps including: Pevac Video for Google Drive, Discrete Pevac Video Drive, Pevac Video for Dropbox, Dasko & Mladja Podcast, SmartMyBoat Navigator are available on all Roku devices including Finlux soon to be launched in the UK.
