    Pevac Digital Signage


    Pevac is essentially a lightweight signage player built specifically for Roku. It is intended for restaurants, shops, offices, schools, reception areas, etc., where you want to turn an existing Roku TV into a signage screen without buying a separate signage box.
    What it supports

    One important distinction: despite the launch material describing it as cloud-based, it isn’t a full centralized signage CMS in the same sense as a mature enterprise platform. Moving configurations between devices is currently manual, and the receiving device needs access to the media.


    Pricing

    The advertised starting price is $4.99/month for one device, with monthly and annual plans and a 30-day trial on eligible plans. The exact current subscription tiers are presented through Roku Pay.
    That’s substantially cheaper than OptiSigns’ regular plans.
    For comparison, OptiSigns currently lists:

    • Pro Plus: $15/month or $13.50 annually
    • Engage: $30/month or $27 annually

    OptiSigns’ plans include substantially more functionality, though.

    OptiSigns itself says Roku has significant platform restrictions. Its Roku app supports basic images, video, documents, playlists and schedules, but not split-screen or many of its other apps/integrations. OptiSigns now actually says its built-in Roku app is no longer recommended for digital-signage use cases as of May 2024.


    For a simple Roku-only installation, Pevac’s approach makes a lot of sense:Existing Roku TV + Pevac + Google Drive/USB → inexpensive signage
    You don’t necessarily need an Android box, Windows mini-PC, Raspberry Pi, or dedicated signage player.

    If you have 1–5 screens showing menus, promotions, photos or videos, Pevac looks particularly relevant. If you’re managing dozens/hundreds of screens, needing centralized publishing, monitoring, proof-of-play, data integrations, or sophisticated layouts, you’d want to investigate a dedicated signage platform/player instead..
