We’re thrilled to announce a significant update that will make your experience with our app on Roku devices even smoother and more reliable: the integration of Roku Enhanced Subscription Recovery. This isn’t just a minor tweak; it’s a powerful new feature designed to keep you seamlessly connected to your content, even if a payment hiccup occurs.

Update includes:

  • Pevac Video for Google Drive (version 2.6 and above)
  • Discrete Pevac Video Drive (version 1.2 and above)
  • Pevac Video for Dropbox (version 1.3 and above)

What is Enhanced Subscription Recovery?

In the past, if your subscription auto-renewal failed due to an expired card, insufficient funds, or other payment issues, you might have faced an abrupt interruption to your service. That’s where Roku’s Enhanced Subscription Recovery (formerly known as “Passive Subscription on Hold” or “Subscription on Hold”) comes in.

This intelligent feature provides a safety net, giving you ample opportunity to update your payment information and get back to your favorite shows, movies, or content without missing a beat.

How Does it Work?

Here’s a quick rundown of what happens if your payment for our app’s subscription auto-renewal fails:

3-Day Grace Period: You'll immediately enter a 3-day grace period. During this time, you can continue to access all your content without interruption. Roku Pay will send you daily email notifications to remind you to update your payment method.

Subscription On Hold (Up to 57 Days): If payment isn't received within the 3-day grace period, your subscription will be placed "on hold" for a maximum of 57 days. While on hold, you won't be able to access content, but Roku will continue to notify you on your Roku home screen, upon app launch, within the app, and via email, prompting you to update your payment method.

Automatic Recovery: As soon as Roku receives a successful payment, your entitlement is automatically re-granted! If you update during the grace period, your billing period remains the same. If you update while on hold, your billing period adjusts to the date the payment was collected.

This extended recovery window, totaling up to 60 days, significantly increases the chance of successful re-subscription, meaning less hassle for you and more uninterrupted entertainment.

Benefits for You

No More Abrupt Interruptions: Say goodbye to sudden content lockouts due to payment issues.

Plenty of Time to Update: You get a generous window of up to 60 days to resolve any payment problems.

Clear Notifications: Roku ensures you're well-informed about your subscription status through various on-device and email notifications.

Seamless Resumption: Once you update your payment, access to your content is automatically restored, often with your billing period simply adjusting.
